I've heard that food is very good, Camie.  The Nutro I wouldn't use because I had alot of problems with my first golden on that.  It could have changed by now, but I wouldn't take a chance.

Hi Camie

I have never heard of this product so I went to their website looks like a ultra premium dogs food as a breeder can you buy in bulk? on their website it shows 30 pounds as the largest bag.

Barney and Rusty eat Dick Van Patten Duck and Potato also a ultra premium dog food but worth the extra money.

Yes...I love this food already....my pups LOVE IT!!!  So does Zoey..I feed her puppy food while she is nursing.

No...no breeder discounts...nothing. But....I pay 24.00 for a 15 lb bag..and 45.00 for a 30 lb bag.

But so worth the money!!!   I recommend this food to everyone!!!

I checked this food out on their website and also at Pet Supplies Plus where I buy Maggies food, and it's the same price here Camie.  Too bad you can't get a breeder discount.  Why don't you email them and ask?  Can't hurt.

Okay I looked it up and the first 6 ingredients are of protein and the first 3 are meat.. That is AWESOME!!... I have seen this food in some of the holistic food stores in our area.. Hey, its said that a good premium dog food will have meat listed as the first ingredient..and this one does along with another meat source.. Also, has no grain which is good too..Looks like a sound choice to me Camie. I couldn't find it on the dogfoodanalysis.com site but that does not mean its not good..

Tara, it's on the dogfoodanalysis.com list, but it's listed as TOTW and on the bottom of the "T" list.  The only thing wrong with this website is that it's not always up to date.  The analysis for that food was done in 2007, which to me is outdated because alot could have changed since then.  Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.  What do you think?

hey Carol dogfoodanalysis has it listed as a 6 the highest premium dog food.. So, its seems its pretty good.. I use the same as Patti and I too really like that food it has changed my dogs lives but this stuff looks even better and to me the most important thing about dogfood is 1. healthy food without soy or corn and little to no grain. 2. affordable and 3. Your dog has to like it..and grow on it..

Camie (and all...)
We switched Gator to Bison Taste of the Wild about 4-5 months ago and he has done great with it. Perfect amount of protein. Our little man has really bulked up nicely with this food.

That's great Camie, I'm so glad it's working out well for you.  If I need to change Maggie's food I wouldn't hesitate to try this one.  Thanks for the info!!

Camie,

I am planning on feeding my puppy Taste of the Wild, but hadn't heard of it before you brought it up.  Honestly I don't know much about what makes one food better than another - I figured I'd put my baby girl on Science Diet, Iams, or Eukanuba.  What makes one food better than another?  Other than the dogs loving it - which is important! - what makes Taste of the Wild special?

Thanks so much!  I have a feeling I'll be asking a lot of questions over the next few months - its been a while since I had a puppy!

To be honest..this is the best dogfood I have seen so far..that's why I have decided to use it on all my puppies
This dogfood has REAL meat as the 1st ingrets./fish/egg etc....
To be totally honest..now I'm not knocking anyone here...look at  the dogfood you mentioned..turn the bag over..it is fillers.
Do not buy dogfood with wheat/corn etc in it. Soy..it is a filler.

I'm just reccomending this dogfood..because I believe it is the best out there.

You can get it a tractor supply or pet stores.

Camie,

You're right - wow!  I just spent about twenty minutes in my pet store looking at the ingredients in the dog foods I've been considering - I just never noticed all the "fillers."  You're so helpful!!  I really appreciate it!

Thanks again - one more reason I'm happy you're my puppy's mommy!!

Hey Camie,

I went to the local petco yesterday, they don't have taste of the wild.
I got a bag of Pro Plan puppy food from my friend, honestly I don't know anything about it. Is this good? I think it will take a week to get the taste of the wild that I ordered online.
And the baby is coming home tomorrow, I feel a little bit nervous. God!!!!

Sharon, another very good dog food with no soy or corn is Natural Balance by Dick VanPatten... Honestly it has changed my dogs lives...REALLY!!... it is about 49.00 dollars for a 33lb bag but at Petco if you buy 10 bags of premium dog food you get a bag for free that and they always have decent coupons..Try it.. I really believe in it...I think my dogs coats are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and they are just one year old...Good food makes the difference.

Sharon, maybe if you check around your area for smaller dog food stores you may find TOTW.  Seems like those are the kinds of stores that carry these specialty foods.  I wish you luck with your search.  Carol

Camie, I don't have Tractor Supply in this area either.
Can I get a little zipbag of taste of the wild from you tomorrow? I think it might be easier for him to accept new food if I mix taste of the wild in it.

Shoot..I wish you could find the Taste of the wild in your area though..Pups really love this food..gobble it right up

Sharon,
Try mixing alittle soft puppy food(canned) in his food ok..just for a few days, while he adjusts to his new home. You want to make sure he eats well and drinks enough ok
