Hi Everyone and New People too,

Just thought I would give an up date on Nike.....SHE IS INCREDIBLE....definitely knows her name already   she is great, just perfect!!  only one accident in the house and i supposedly had two people watching her while I showered   she plays hard and then sleeps hard...what a great stage...I will get some pictures on here hopefully later today....he eating is alittle finicky but hopefully that will work out....I'm mixing her Buddy Boy with Purina One....her poop is soft is that normal during the switching stage and she is only eating about 3/4 of a cup 3 times a day...anyone see any problems there???  Also, when do you think we could venture out for our first walk in the outside world she is 7 1/2 weeks now, is it best to stay in the yard still??

Hope all is well with everyone, we are sure lovin life here thanks to you Camie!!

Morning Joani, so good to hear Nike is doing so well!!! That's wonderful.  The soft poop is normal for transitioning food, at least it has been for us.  That can even happen with treats we've found also.  I have always been told to keep puppies in the yard until they've finished their shots, so that's what I've always done.  When they're so young, their resistance to alot of things is very low.  Look forward to those pictures!!!!

Hey Joani........sounds like Nike is doing GREAT!!! Look forward to seeing the new pics as you post them.  sounds like everything is going well......eating normal and the poop issue is normal too.  We always kept our puppies close to home, like Carol said until they got all their shots.  I think the main issue is not to have them around other dogs , we always walked ours on our street and were just very mindful of anything they are around.....in other words watch what they are into as far as sniffing etc.......and eating!! OUR DIGGER would eat anything including a ROCK when he was a little puppy!!! ( watch out for mulch, gravel, other dogs and cats poop....and other animals!!) We would just avoid any socialization with other dogs except those we know have had their shots, until after your puppy has had all thier shots.

My opinion here...I would not take her anywhere till she has had her 2nd set of shots..be great if you wait till her third set..but if you have had her 2nd set of shots..she will be fine. I would still stay away from dog parks thou!!!
Normal to  have soft poop..while your feeding her something new.
You might want to add alittle soft food in there to make her eat alittle more...could be..she is not liking the food very much. Just watch her..if she looks thinnner..try something differant or give her some soft mixed in ok.
Also..watch her poop. If it starts looking like jelly....or just differant then it is now...take a stool sample into the vet and have them check for Coccidia or Giardia. They just give you meds for that.
They can get that from kennel settings..but they can get that also from stress(coccidia). They can get it from eating poop too.
You post picture's ok girl
Need to get her on my website

Hi all, Nike and I have been invited to the beach but we don't go for the 2nd shots till the end of July.......we should just stay home right....I don't want to take silly chances......am i correct that would be a big one???  and would it hurt are potty training progress, things are going sooo great......any thoughts out there

Joani, if it were me, I would not accept that invitation.  It wouldn't be worth the chance to me. She really should have her second set of shots before she goes anywhere like that.  You are doing really well with the potty training too, so you wouldn't want to mess that up right?  It might not, but I wouldn't want to take that chance either.  Just my opinion, but that's what you asked.  Good luck, Carol

Joani,
IF you wanted to go...Tell your vet you want her shots the end of this week. She is old enough to have her 2nd set of shots..This needs to be done at 8 wks old..some vets want to wait an extra week...but down here..the vets do them at 8 wks.
But....I personally would not take her to the beach now. Still too young..I would say...hit the beach before school starts, if you want to go

Joani, they all do it.  If they eat it they usually throw up.  WHY....beats me.  So she's just doing what they all do.  Try to discourage it, but don't worry about it.

Hi All
Just thought I'd give you an update on our puppy!  We named him Jiggs because Camie's Jiggs is just too cute.  He is adorable and a lot of fun!  He keeps us very busy.  He is so smart.  He has the house training down, but HATES the crate. He cries every 3 hours at night...anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I have the half brother to your puppies.. Whiskey is 8 mo from Honey\Tonka...

A good idea is through out the day at different intervals place jiggs in the crate and be sure to say good boy and make all the fuss over it when he is in it. leave him there about 15 minutes and ignore crying. Once quieted let him out so at. This is so at night time he is not surprised at this crazy thing he has to get into but only in the begining until he has gotten over being in the crate. We only crate at night and when we are not at home but sometimes it does taking some getting use too. Also, dogs like dens so maybe try and make the crate as dark as possible that also may make him feel more secure...

good luck,
tara

Hi All, Oh my gosh life has been sooo crazy thanks to Camie, BeeBee and Tonka.....yes, the ones that gave me Little NIKE....life has been nuts--school opening and trying to train a puppy....love it though....but sorry I've been out of touch, don't find much computer time these days.  Nike last weighed in at 25lbs but we are off to the doctor for a shot this week and I'm sure she is well up into the 30's....we have gotten sit, down and stay if we are waiting to cross a street....we just are not good at lay down and stay...we started digging but putting her poop in those spots stopped that...still nipping but i guess that goes with the territory....gosh there is so much more but I will try and get better about staying in touch....Cami not a day goes by that i don't say Thank you to Nike's parent and of course you too....hope you all like that pictures and i hope you all are well....

Hi Everyone....sorry I'm not very consistant with keep you all up on Nike.  But believe me we think about you all alot.  I will get some pictures up here soon.  Nike goes to get spade in about 3 weeks, she'll be 6 months old, can't believe it.  She's doing great.  Our walks are getting less strained, but when people come along all bets are off she goes nuts...so we definitely need to work on that.   Hey, does anyone know about the black marks on her tongue is that a BeeBee and Tonka thing.  Anyone else baby's have that?  People always ask me about it and i have no clue
